Strasbourg’s gone Tour de France crazy.
This year the race, which begins on Saturday, starts in the centre of Strasbourg. For the last six months we’ve seen workmen resurfacing all the streets to be carpet-smooth, public buildings have been repainted, flowers have been planted and signs erected. We’ve even got new funky-looking street lamp posts. Watch the start of the race on TV on Saturday and you’ll see what we mean!
This sign (above) is currently outside our front door. Since the race passes our home obviously the street will be closed off. The sign warns us that we need to find alternative parking places for our cars from Friday at 8.00pm until after 10.00pm on Saturday.
